Pekanbaru (ANTARA News) – Floods have inundated around 6,000 houses in 49 villages in six sub districts in Kampar District, Riau Province, over the past three weeks.

“A total of 6,010 houses have been inundated in six sub districts,” Kampar District Head Burhanudin Husin said here on Wednesday.

The flood-hit sub districts were Tambang, Siak Hulu, Perhentian Raja, Kampar Kiri, Kampar Kiri Hulu, and Gunung Sahilan, he said.

The flooding had also damaged roads, farming areas and plantations.

The Kampar district administration was planning to request a budget allocation from the central government for renovation of roads, houses, farming areas and plantations affected by the floods. (*)
