Floods hit four villages in East Nusa Tenggara

Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) – Floods hit four villages in the eastern Indonesian province of East Nusa Tenggara after three rivers overflowed on Thursday night.

The floods inundated hundreds of houses at Motadik, Nonotbatan, Maukabatan and Oemanu villages in Timor Tengah Utara district but there was no immediate report of casualties.

Worst hit was Motadik village where 159 houses were flooded.

Timor Tengah Utara Deputy District Head Raymundus Fernandez said the water level reached up to two meters in worst-hit areas. (*)
